New Delhi, 05 October (H.S.): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has completed preparations for its proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10, demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj held a marathon meeting on Monday with all Delhi MLAs, councillors, district presidents, assembly constituency presidents and ward observers.

During the meeting, a backup leadership structure was prepared to ensure that the protest could continue even if the police arrested leaders from the first line of leadership. In such a situation, leaders from the second and third tiers would take charge of the movement.

Chairing the meeting, Saurabh Bharadwaj said that, according to sources, leaders of organisations supporting “Jantar Mantar 2.0” were likely to be arrested soon on what he described as false cases. He said the peaceful protest must continue despite such arrests. For this, leaders and organisations should prepare a backup leadership structure. There should also be a Plan B for communication. He said the movement was much bigger than any individual, organisation or political party.

Bharadwaj said a major protest would be held at Jantar Mantar on October 10, with people from all parts of the country expected to come and raise their voices against the Election Commission. He said the movement was bigger than any political party or organisation. Describing it as a movement of 1.4 billion Indians, he said the protest should not stop regardless of who was arrested.

Bharadwaj urged all leaders and organisations to prepare their respective backup plans. He said there was a possibility that district- and assembly-level leaders could be detained on October 9, a day before the October 10 protest. In such a situation, organisations should make advance arrangements for how communication would be maintained, how messages would be conveyed and who would deliver messages to those involved in the movement.

Bharadwaj said the protest must remain completely democratic, constitutional, lawful and peaceful. Therefore, there should be a second line of leadership ready to take charge after the first line, manage the entire protest and ensure that it remains peaceful.

Bharadwaj also said that WhatsApp and Instagram accounts could potentially be blocked. In such a situation, participants would need to decide what alternative channels of communication should be used, including whether Signal or Telegram could be used instead of WhatsApp. He said this was the time to keep a backup plan ready for every eventuality and urged everyone to prepare both Plan B and Plan C. He described it as the biggest movement and said that, through this movement, the country, its politics, democracy and Constitution could be protected. He therefore called upon everyone to remain prepared.
