Bhubaneswar, 05 October (H.S.): Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers K.V. Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and several other leaders on Monday paid tributes to Shaheed Baji Rout on his birth anniversary, recalling his courage, patriotism and supreme sacrifice at the age of 12.

In a message posted on X, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati paid his heartfelt tribute to Shaheed Baji Rout, saying that his indomitable courage and fearlessness in standing against injustice and oppression at such a young age have become an immortal part of history. His sacrifice, he said, would continue to inspire generations.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid his respectful homage to Baji Rout, describing him as the youngest freedom fighter to lay down his life for the country at the age of just 12. He said Baji Rout’s exceptional courage, boundless patriotism and great sacrifice would continue to inspire the people of the country.

Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo paid tribute to the brave freedom fighter of Odisha, saying he was offering his respectful homage to the immortal soul of Baji Rout on his birth anniversary.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida also paid her humble tributes to Baji Rout, describing him as India’s youngest martyr. She said his sacrifice for the country’s freedom would always be remembered.

Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling paid tribute to Baji Rout, describing him as the youngest martyr of the country and a source of pride for Odisha. He said his sacrifice for the nation at such a young age would remain etched in the pages of history for generations.

Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik paid homage to Baji Rout, describing him as a symbol of courage and fearlessness and the country’s youngest freedom fighter. He said the courage and valour displayed by Baji Rout at the age of 12 in the service of the nation would remain an enduring source of inspiration.

Former Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan also paid tribute to Shaheed Baji Rout on his birth anniversary. He said the youngest martyr and brave freedom fighter’s immense courage and sacrifice for the protection of the motherland would remain eternally memorable.
