Bhadohi, 4 Oct (HS): Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath said that UP was a state of unlimited potential, but
in between, governments with sick mentality had made it sick. In Uttar Pradesh,
where artisans and handicraftsmen were once forced to migrate for livelihood,
today they are getting a platform to showcase their skills in their own soil.
Before 2017, business was in trouble due to riots, curfew and anarchy, but now
no mafia can threaten by brandishing a pistol in an open jeep. Neither can they
breach the safety of daughters and businessmen. Today, the carpet industry has
got better connectivity and security along with technology, design and market.
Bhadohi's carpet is making its mark in the world market.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Golden Jubilee edition of
the India Carpet Expo, being held from October 4-7, at the Carpet Expo Mart in
Sant Ravidas Nagar, Bhadohi, on Sunday. He visited the stalls and viewed the
products of artisans and handicraftsmen. Approximately 250 exhibitors and more
than 450 foreign buyers from 65 countries are participating in the expo,
including 106 buyers from BRICS countries.
ODOP gave a big market to carpets: The Chief Minister said
that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was plagued by frustration and despair. Riots,
curfews, violence, and mafia rule prevented business. Artisans were unable to
find work, and domestic and foreign buyers were also reluctant. The government
included Bhadohi carpets in the One District-One Product (ODOP) scheme,
connecting artisans with technology, design, and the market.
Silk cluster exports worth Rs. 6,100 crore: The Chief
Minister stated that Sant Ravidas Nagar and the Silk Cluster are generating
exports worth Rs. 6,100 crore. The silk clusters of Sant Ravidas Nagar,
Mirzapur, and Varanasi account for 60 percent of the country's total carpet
exports. Sant Ravidas Nagar alone has 2,500 MSME units with an annual turnover
of Rs. 10,000 crore. This industry directly employs over 500,000 people.
He said that 90 percent of the carpets manufactured in the
district are exported to various countries, including the United States,
Germany, Australia, Canada, and Britain. Bhadohi's handmade carpets have also
received a GI tag. The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology is located in
Bhadohi to provide technical education, design, and dyeing training in the
carpet and textile sectors.
Noida International Airport in six hours: The Chief Minister
said that the carpet industry is directly benefiting from improved
connectivity. With the extension of the Ganga Expressway into the Vindhya
Expressway, it will be possible to reach Noida International Airport from Sant
Ravidas Nagar in six hours. Cargo facilities there will allow Bhadohi's carpets
to reach global markets easily. Cargo facilities are also available on the
inland waterway between Varanasi and Haldia and at Lal Bahadur Shastri
International Airport in Varanasi.
Now no mafia can threaten the businessman: The Chief
Minister said that there are no more disturbances, curfews, or riots in Uttar
Pradesh. No mafia can threaten anyone by brandishing a pistol in an open jeep,
and no one can compromise the safety of daughters and businessmen. As a result
of strong law and order, the state has received investment proposals worth Rs. 50
lakh crore. Groundbreaking has already been done for proposals worth Rs. 15
lakh crore, and industries worth Rs. 7.5 lakh crore will soon be operational.
There are 9.6 million MSME units in the state, and each unit is being provided
with a security insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakh.
Factories crossed 14 thousand to 35 thousand: The Chief
Minister said that before 2017, there were approximately 14,000 factories in
the state, which has now increased to over 35,000. Fifty-five percent of the
country's mobile phones and 60 percent of electronic components are
manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh has a 60 percent share in the
country's expressway network. Work is underway on six nodes of the Defense
Industrial Corridor, and 12 private industrial parks are being developed in the
state. Every possible facility is being provided to investors through programs
like Investment Mitra, Investment Sarathi, and Udyami Mitra.
Bhadohi carpet in the new Parliament building too: CM Yogi
said that the carpets made by the skilled hands of Bhadohi are today adorning
the big establishments of the world. The carpet laid in the new Parliament
building of the country was also made in Sant Ravidas Nagar. The district has
GI tag, ODOP platform, Carpet Expo Mart and a strong export mechanism. PM Mitra
Textile Park is being developed in one thousand acres between Lucknow and
Hardoi. Preparations are underway to establish Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel Employment and Skilling Zone in every district of the state. Skilled manpower
will be prepared here as per the demand of the industries.
The world saw the power of Uttar Pradesh through the
International Trade Show
The Chief Minister said that the UP International Trade
Show, held from September 25th to 29th at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida,
attracted over 600,000 visitors. More than 150,000 B2B meetings were held, with
over 2,400 exhibitors and over 650 foreign buyers participating.
On this occasion, MP Dr. Vinod Kumar Bind, District
Panchayat Chairman Anirudh Tripathi, Aurai MLA Dinanath Bhaskar, Gyanpur MLA
Vipul Dubey, CEPC Chairman Captain Mukesh Gomber, Vice Chairman Aslam Mehboob,
Principal Secretary of MSME Department Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil and Chairman
