Bhubaneswar, 04 October (H.S.): The successful organisation of the seventh Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026 will give fresh momentum to tourism development and investment in the state, BJP state spokesperson Dilip Mallick said on Sunday.

He thanked Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Tourism Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, and the state government for organising the international tourism event aimed at showcasing Odisha’s rich culture, heritage, cuisine, maritime traditions and tourist destinations to the global market.

Mallick said the event brought leading domestic and international tour operators, investors and tourism industry experts onto a common platform, creating new opportunities for investment in hotels, homestays, eco-tourism and tourism infrastructure. He said this would generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth.

He highlighted the government’s initiatives, including approval of a 5,500-acre land bank for tourism infrastructure, a ₹1,500-crore budget for infrastructure and hotel development during 2026-31, and plans to introduce tourist police at 29 major tourist destinations.

These initiatives, he said, would strengthen Odisha’s tourism ecosystem, boost the state economy and prove to be a milestone in taking Odisha’s tourism sector to new heights.
