Mumbai, 31 October (H.S.): Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has shared a significant update on his much-anticipated biopic, revealing that work on the film’s screenplay has been underway for the past six months.
The cricketer, who made a name for himself with his remarkable performances on the field, expressed hope that the script would be completed within the next nine to 12 months. If everything proceeds according to plan, filming could begin next year, he indicated.
The biopic is being produced by Bhushan Kumar in association with Ravi Bhagchandka, who is known for producing the acclaimed cricket documentary ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’.
In an interview, Yuvraj also reflected on his cricketing career, fitness and his battle with cancer. Emphasising the importance of health, he said that nothing was more valuable than one’s well-being. He recalled that there was a time when he was reluctant to speak publicly about his illness because he feared it could bring his cricketing career to an end.
However, his determination to overcome the disease and make a comeback to international cricket has since become a source of inspiration for countless people.
Yuvraj also highlighted the importance of mental health, stressing that people should share their struggles with family members and friends during difficult times. He said that communicating with loved ones could provide the emotional strength needed to navigate challenging circumstances.
Yuvraj Singh has several remarkable achievements to his credit during his cricketing career. He created history during the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup by smashing six consecutive sixes in an over bowled by England's Stuart Broad. He subsequently played a pivotal role in India's triumph at the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, earning widespread acclaim for his all-round performances.
His battle with cancer during his career marked a major turning point in his life. Through his proposed biopic, audiences are expected to get a glimpse not only of his outstanding cricketing achievements but also of the personal struggles, resilience and lesser-known aspects of his journey.
