Mumbai, 31 Oct (HS): a
Mazgaon Court has issued a warrant against Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane in UBT
MP Sanjay Raut defamation case. The warrant has been issued as Rane failed to
attend the court consistently.
Three years ago Rane had said that Sanjay Raut will
join the Nationalist Congress Party, against which Raut filed a defamation case
in Mazgaon court. The warrant has been issued with an official government address
of Rane. Earlier the warrant was addressed to her house in Kankawli, which the
police had not served for three months. Raut brought to the notice of the court
that the warrant was not served. Then it was served at Rane’s official address
in Mumbai.
In May 2023, during a press conference, Rane had said
that Raut will join NCP within two to three weeks. Meetings relating to his
entering NCP are in progress. Rane also said that Raut has agreed to join the
party if Ajit Pawar is removed from it.
