Guwahati, 31 October (HS): Nine agriculture officers have been suspended in Assam within the last 24 hours, triggering a stir in the state’s Agriculture Department.

According to available information, five agriculture officers were initially suspended in Hailakandi district. Subsequently, the District Agriculture Officer of Hailakandi was also placed under suspension.

Meanwhile, three agriculture officers in Barpeta district have also faced suspension.

With these actions, the total number of agriculture officers suspended across the state has reached nine within 24 hours.

However, the reasons behind the suspensions and further details of the departmental action are yet to be officially disclosed.-----------
