New Delhi, 31 October (H.S.): Jatin Kumar Nayak has assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).

In a statement issued on Saturday, the company announced that Nayak took over as its new Chairman and Managing Director on October 31.

Prior to this appointment, Nayak was serving as Executive Director (Finance) at REC Limited, a public sector enterprise. He brings with him more than three decades of extensive and diverse professional experience. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of REC Transmission Projects Company Limited, a subsidiary of REC Limited.

Earlier in his career, Nayak worked with several prominent public sector organisations, including NHPC, Hindustan Copper, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited. His professional experience spans the power sector as well as resource-based industries, particularly mining and metals.

Nayak holds a postgraduate degree in Commerce from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
