Banaskantha, 30 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a roadshow in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, drawing public attention ahead of the launch and inauguration of development projects worth more than Rs. 14,000 crore during his two-day visit to the state.

The roadshow preceded a series of programmes focused on strengthening key sectors, including agriculture, dairy, animal husbandry and infrastructure. The initiatives are expected to support rural development, improve connectivity and create new opportunities for farmers and local communities.

A major highlight of the visit is the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre, spread across 127 acres, which is being established to promote scientific cattle breeding and improve livestock productivity. The facility will focus particularly on the Kankrej breed and is expected to accelerate genetic improvement through advanced breeding technologies.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate and dedicate several projects to the nation, besides laying foundation stones for new initiatives collectively valued at over Rs. 14,000 crore.

As part of the programme, PM Modi will release the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, under which approximately Rs. 19,000 crore will be transferred to eligible farmers across the country. He will also flag off two train services aimed at enhancing rail connectivity.

The infrastructure component of the package includes extensions of the Ahmedabad Metro network towards the airport and GIFT City, as well as the expansion of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana highway from four lanes to eight lanes.

Several other initiatives are directed towards improving agricultural infrastructure, strengthening food-processing facilities and expanding essential services in rural areas. These include the development of child-friendly Anganwadi centres and agricultural storage and processing facilities.

The visit will also showcase efforts to promote renewable energy and sustainable waste management. Two Bio-CNG plants being developed by Banas Dairy, which will use cattle dung as feedstock, are among the initiatives intended to generate clean energy while creating additional value from dairy-sector waste.

PM Modi is scheduled to continue his Gujarat engagements on October 31 at Ekta Nagar, where he will participate in programmes commemorating the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The occasion will also feature the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, alongside the inauguration and dedication of projects related to infrastructure, tourism and public amenities.
