Lucknow, Oct 30 (HS): Yogi
Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed his thoughts on the
state's changing economic and security scenario. According to official social
media announcements issued by Yogi Adityanath on October 30, 2026, the
administration highlights that brilliantly lit late-night marketplaces and
commercial areas are a clear indicator of increased business confidence and
trust among local vendors.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has highlighted
the state's development over the last 9.5 years, identifying the New
Uttar Pradesh as a transition from an old crisis of identity, terror, and
lawlessness to a new period based on security, infrastructure, and economic
prosperity.
The Chief Minister's address emphasized many key indicators and policy goals,
including:
Women's Employment Participation: The female labor force participation
percentage in Uttar Pradesh has allegedly climbed dramatically, from roughly
13% in 2017 to 36%.
Security Framework: The administration praises its
zero-tolerance approach against crime with creating a safe working
environment, allowing women to work night shifts safely.
Economic Goals: The push for nighttime commercial activity and investment
facilitation intends to move the state toward a $1 trillion economy, bolstered
by recent overseas cooperation, including conversations with Singaporean
delegates.
From Security Crisis to Zero-Tolerance: CM Yogi stated that
prior to 2017, Uttar Pradesh people frequently experienced an identity and
safety crisis both outside and within the state, due to inadequate law
enforcement and widespread mafia influence. Under the BJP government's
zero-tolerance crime policy, the state has moved toward a model in which women
and traders feel secure working late.
Traders' Assurance: Prolonged night-time activities of vibrant markets and trade centers reflect
flourishing business confidence and mental
stability within the
merchant community.
Empowering Women Workers: Women confidently
performing night shifts without concern. Government statistics indicate that women's
participation in the workforce in Uttar Pradesh has increased from approximately 13% in 2017 to 36%, representing a significant
step toward self-sufficiency.
Law & Order Paradigm Shift: Comparing
the present situation with the period before 2017—when crime and insecurity led businesses to close by nightfall—CM
attributes the economic revival
and public safety to the Zero Tolerance policy targeting crime.
This philosophy complements the administration's overall initiative
towards a Security to Prosperity framework,
utilizing enhanced infrastructure and a safe environment
to establish Uttar Pradesh as a top choice for international
and local investments.
UP CM penned a post on X, which
rreads as follows: “Today, in the new Uttar Pradesh, the lights of bustling
markets and commercial establishments at night are not merely the glow of
trade, but the radiance of the traders' confidence. The self-assurance of our
maternal strength—fearlessly fulfilling their duties at their workplaces during
night shifts—is not just a personal achievement, but a symbol of the progress
of the entire society. However, this atmosphere of security and trust was not
always the case in Uttar Pradesh. Before 2017, due to crime and insecurity,
commercial activities began to dwindle with sunset. Families remained anxious
about the safety of women working late into the night. Under the illustrious
guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the
double-engine government has transformed this situation. The 'zero tolerance'
policy toward crime and criminals has strengthened law and order and
prioritized women's safety.”
“Today, markets remain open even
at night. Traders are finding new opportunities for business expansion, and our
daughters are advancing through their talent and hard work in a secure
environment. In 2017, the female labor force participation rate in the state
was around 13 percent, which has now risen to 36 percent. This is a powerful
expression of the growing confidence, economic empowerment, and self-reliance
of our maternal strength. This is the new identity of the 'new Uttar Pradesh,'
marching from 'security to prosperity,” he added prior to signing off.
