Hailakandi (Assam), 30 October (H.S.): Assam Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika on Friday strongly reprimanded agriculture department officials in Hailakandi district over alleged negligence in the discharge of their duties, warning that their lapses could deprive farmers of benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme.
Expressing displeasure over the officials' performance, the minister questioned their commitment to work, asking, If you are not interested in working, why don't you resign from your jobs?
He further cautioned that farmers would be deprived of PM-KISAN financial assistance because of the officials' mistakes, stressing that such negligence would not be tolerated.
Taking serious note of the matter, Hazarika issued show-cause notices to five agriculture officials and directed them to explain their conduct. He warned that failure to provide satisfactory replies could invite suspension.
The minister emphasised that officials must discharge their responsibilities sincerely and ensure that eligible farmers do not suffer due to administrative negligence.-----------
