New Delhi, 30 October (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin will host a special Diwali reception for members of the diplomatic community at the party headquarters on Friday, with more than 90 diplomatic representatives from around 50 countries expected to attend.

The gathering is likely to bring together heads of missions, deputy heads of missions and senior diplomats representing various countries. Union ministers and senior BJP leaders are also expected to be present at the event.

According to the BJP, the initiative is aimed at familiarising the international diplomatic community with India's rich cultural heritage, traditional practices and the festive spirit of Diwali. The event also seeks to promote goodwill, friendship and stronger people-to-people ties among nations.

The celebration will feature a distinctive blend of Indian musical traditions and contemporary technology. A special performance titled ‘Tradition and Innovation’, featuring violinist Nandini Shankar and Mahesh Raghavan, known for creating music using an iPad, is expected to be one of the major attractions of the programme.

The reception at the BJP headquarters will provide an opportunity to showcase India's cultural diversity and its vibrant festive traditions to the international community. It is also expected to encourage interaction with diplomatic representatives and foster greater mutual understanding and cooperation between India and other countries.
