Guwahati, 30 October (H.S.): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that security personnel had taken action against 23 alleged infiltrators who attempted to enter India illegally through Cachar district under the cover of darkness.

In a social media post last late night, Sarma drew a comparison between staying awake late at night scrolling through mobile phones and attempting to cross the international border illegally, saying the latter was far more harmful.

He remarked that while staying awake late at night and scrolling through mobile phones was detrimental to health, attempting to enter India illegally after crossing the border at night was even more dangerous, as security personnel remained alert during those hours to prevent such attempts.

The Chief Minister said the alert security personnel had dealt with the 23 uninvited nocturnal guests in Cachar without offering them hospitality, indicating that appropriate action had been taken against them.-----------
