New Delhi, 30 October (H.S.): The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has dismantled a major clandestine drug manufacturing laboratory operating in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, seizing approximately 1,100 kg of narcotic substances, along with precursor chemicals and equipment used in their production. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Friday, the DRI conducted a major operation against the illicit manufacture of synthetic drugs in the country, uncovering a large-scale clandestine drug laboratory in a remote village in Jalaun district.

The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 1,100 kg of narcotic substances, precursor chemicals used in their manufacture and a substantial quantity of processing equipment. Two persons have been arrested in the case.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a large team of DRI officers, with assistance from the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), conducted a joint operation at a suspected location in the early hours of October 29. During the search, officials discovered a fully equipped and operational laboratory engaged in the manufacture of synthetic drugs.

The operation led to the seizure of approximately 184 kg of semi-finished drugs, around 582 kg of raw chemicals and equipment used in the manufacturing process.
