Prayagraj, 3 Oct (HS): A memorandum was submitted to PM Narendra
Modi through public representatives for amendment in the MDR limit and monthly
maximum limit on UPI transactions. Under the leadership of District President
Lalu Mittal, while submitting the memorandum to Uttar Pradesh Government's
Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta, Nandi, MLA City North, Harshvardhan
Vajpayee, MLA Phulpur Deepak Patel, demanding to convey the pain of the traders
to the Prime Minister, it was said that the minimum transaction limit for the
implementation of MDR should be increased from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 10000 and the
monthly maximum MDR limit should be increased from Rs. 100000 to Rs. 500000.
Lalu Mittal urged that UPI has become an important and widespread medium for
digital payments in the country today. Especially for small and medium-sized
businesses, entrepreneurs, and consumers, UPI has made the payment process
simple, quick, and convenient. Small businesses should not be burdened with
unnecessary financial burdens and should continue to adopt UPI and digital
payments without any additional pressure.
The All India Industry Trade Board believes that a policy should be developed
that will ensure that traders are not forced to turn away from digital payments
and return to cash transactions. Among those who submitted the memorandum were
Ganga Par in-charge Rajendra Kesarwani, Senior Vice President Ajay Awasthi,
General Secretary Ravi Sharma, Women District President Ratna Jaiswal, Nidhi
Kesarwani, and others.
