
Aichi-Nagoya, 03 October (H.S.): India’s women’s golf team made history at the Asian Games by winning the silver medal in the team event for the first time. The Indian trio of Pranavi Urs, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar finished with a combined score of 14 under par to secure the silver medal. Pranavi had earlier won gold in the individual event, giving India two golf medals on the day.
China won the gold medal with a combined score of 22 under par. India finished second with 14 under par, securing the country’s first-ever medal in the women’s team golf event at the Asian Games.
The Asian Games proved particularly memorable for Pranavi Urs. She won a historic gold medal in the individual stroke-play event with a score of 15 under par. She then added a silver medal in the team event, ensuring that she returned from Aichi-Nagoya with two medals.
Pranavi’s outstanding individual performance also helped place the Indian team in a strong position. Alongside Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, she helped India post a combined score of 14 under par in the team event. China topped the standings with 22 under par.
The achievement is particularly significant for India as it represents the country’s first medal in women’s team golf in Asian Games history. Pranavi Urs further enhanced the historic campaign with her individual gold, while Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar joined her in securing the team silver.
