Guwahati, 03 October (HS): The Kaziranga National Park in Assam was reopened for tourists from Saturday, marking the beginning of the new tourist season.

The park was formally opened in the presence of Assam Forest Minister Jayanta Malla Barua and Minister Atul Bora. The reopening is expected to attract tourists and wildlife enthusiasts from across the country and abroad.

Kaziranga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses and rich biodiversity. The park remains one of Assam’s major tourism destinations, with jeep and elephant safaris among the key attractions for visitors.

Officials have made arrangements for the new tourism season, with the reopening expected to provide a boost to the local tourism and hospitality sectors.------------
