Guwahati, 03 October (HS): Various programmes and competitions were organised at the headquarters of the 1st Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, as part of Hindi Pakhwada under the guidance of Kh. Ibouchouba Singh, Second-in-Command and Officiating Commandant of the battalion.

The programmes aimed to promote awareness and interest in Hindi among officers and personnel and encourage greater use of Hindi as the Official Language in official work. Emphasis was also laid on adherence to the Official Language policy and the simple and effective use of Hindi in day-to-day administrative activities.

As part of the fortnight-long observance, several competitions and activities, including Hindi essay writing, debate, general knowledge, Hindi typing and handwriting competitions, were organised. Officers and personnel participated enthusiastically in the events.

Addressing the gathering, the Officiating Commandant said Hindi serves as an important link language in the country and its wider use in government offices could make administrative work simpler and more effective. He urged personnel to promote the use of Hindi in their routine official work.

The participants were also encouraged to ensure that the objectives of Hindi Pakhwada extended beyond the designated period and contributed to the continued promotion and effective implementation of Hindi as the Official Language.

The programmes were conducted in an enthusiastic and positive atmosphere, with active participation from officers and personnel of the Battalion Headquarters.------------
