
Prayagraj, 3 Oct (HS): On Saturday, the holy city of
Prayagraj witnessed a sacred spiritual gathering in the premises of Maharshi
Patanjali Vidya Mandir as Chinmaya Mission, in collaboration with Chinmaya
Navin Sevashram Nyas, organised the ‘Gita Samarpanam’ Chanting Programme
commemorating the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’, celebrating 75 glorious years of the
Chinmaya Mission’s transformative journey of spreading the timeless wisdom of
India’s Vedantic heritage and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
The organisation inspires individuals towards knowledge,
selfless service, spiritual growth and self-transformation in the spirit of
Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda ji.
The event brought together spiritual leaders, esteemed academics,
students, and thousands of devotees to celebrate the perennial wisdom of the
Bhagavad Gita through collective chanting of Chapter 15 three times.
The auspicious ceremony commenced at 10:00 AM with the
ceremonial lighting of the lamp accompanied by traditional verse chanting,
followed by the Invocation of Shri Ganesha and a Guru Vandana performed by the
students of MPVM that filled the school campus with a profound sense of peace
and spiritual serenity.
The succeeding
segment was the ‘Gita Archana’ conducted by Brahmacharini Shaswati Chaitanya ji
of Chinmaya Mission. The Gita 108 names Archana created an atmosphere of
spiritual energy. A gracious welcome was offered to revered Pujya Swami
Abhedananda Ji by garlanding and presenting the Holy Bhagavad Gita and a tulsi
plant by Shri Sharad Agarwal, Trustee of Chinmaya Navin Sevashram Nyas.
The event proceeded with a warm and traditional welcome along
with the distribution of ‘Prasad Pustika Gita Panchamrit’, embodying the
timeless spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. The event was graced by the eminent
members of the city, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi, formally the Director of MNNIT and
a distinguished academician and Prof. Rajeev Srivastava, Head of the Department
of Mechanical Engineering at MNNIT, Prayagraj, Dr. Krishna Gupta, President
Chinmaya Navin Sevashram Nyas, Prof. Anand Agarwal President of Chinmaya
Mission and Brahmacharini Shaswati ji, who were honoured by presenting the Holy
Bhagavad Gita and Tulsi plant.
Dr. R. P. Shukla, Vice President of Chinmaya Mission,
formally welcomed all the guests. Dr.
Krishna Gupta, President of Chinmaya Navin Sevashram Nyas and secretary of
Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir introduced Chinmaya Mission and the event
overview to the audience. She reflected upon the life and teachings of Pujya
Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda ji and his remarkable contribution towards building
a harmonious and value-based society. She highlighted the transformative
significance of Gita chanting in enriching individual lives.
The students of
Maharshi Patanjali Group of Schools participated enthusiastically in the
recitation of the Gita Panchamrit from Bhagavad Gita. This was followed by the
blessings of the guests of the event, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi and Prof. Rajeev
Srivastava.
The central focus of the event was GITA SAMARPANAM, the
collective triple chanting of Chapter 15 (Purushottama Yoga) of the Bhagavad
Gita. Filling the venue with sacred reverberations, the aim was to bring
together thousands of voices and connecting with the profound teachings of the
Bhagavad Gita. The shared effort reinforced Chinmaya Mission’s core mission:
bringing people together through practical Vedantic study.
The gathering was
immensely enriched by the insightful and inspiring address of Pujya Swami
Abhedanand Ji, whose words beautifully blended spiritual wisdom, practical life
lessons and the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. He shared that the
Bhagavad Gita offers timeless wisdom and guidance to dispel ignorance, overcome
challenges and navigate every situation of life with clarity and equanimity.
His profound thoughts encouraged everyone to look within and understand the
deeper purpose of life by embracing the values of selfless service, devotion
and heartfelt gratitude given in the Bhagavad Gita.
The programme moved towards its concluding phase with the
Chinmaya Mission Pledge, which was taken with a deep sense of commitment and
reverence, carrying the noble vision and values of Chinmaya Mission.
The formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt Vote of
Thanks delivered by the President of Chinmaya Mission Shri Anand Agarwal who
acknowledged that the presence and guidance of the spiritual luminaries made
the occasion deeply meaningful and memorable for everyone.
The spiritual ambience reached its culmination with the Gita
Arti, performed with devotion and reverence, followed by the closing prayer,
‘Purnahuti mantra’ which offered a serene conclusion to the event. The
programme ended with the distribution of prasad to all who graced the day.
