Mumbai, 03 October (H.S.): Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited film ‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ made a strong opening at the box office upon its theatrical release on October 2. Continuing the story of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family, the film collected approximately Rs 95.10 crore worldwide on its opening day. Its gross collection in India stood at around Rs 80.10 crore, while the film earned approximately Rs 15 crore from overseas markets.

With this performance, ‘Drishyam 3’ has registered the biggest opening of Ajay Devgn’s career. It surpassed the first-day collections of ‘Singham Again’ at Rs 43.70 crore, ‘Singham Returns’ at Rs 32.09 crore and ‘Golmaal Again’ at Rs 30.14 crore. The film has also comfortably surpassed the opening-day figures of the previous two instalments of the franchise. ‘Drishyam 2’, released in 2022, collected Rs 15.38 crore on its opening day, while ‘Drishyam’, released in 2015, earned Rs 5.85 crore.

Advance bookings also played a significant role in the film’s strong opening. Before its release, ‘Drishyam 3’ had generated advance bookings worth approximately Rs 79.71 crore, including blocked seats. Excluding blocked seats, the figure stood at Rs 67.79 crore.

After recording a worldwide opening-day business of more than Rs 95 crore, the film is now on course to surpass the lifetime worldwide collection of the first film in the franchise. Released in 2015, ‘Drishyam’ recorded a worldwide lifetime collection of approximately Rs 110.40 crore.
