Bhubaneswar, 03 October (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has welcomed the Ministry of Education’s approval for establishing a Centre of Excellence for Classical Pali at the Central University of Odisha.

Describing the approval as a proud moment for Odisha and an important step towards preserving India’s rich linguistic heritage, the Chief Minister said the centre would strengthen the study, preservation and promotion of Pali.

He noted that Pali has deep connections with India’s intellectual, spiritual and cultural traditions. The proposed Centre of Excellence is expected to further strengthen Odisha’s contribution to preserving the country’s civilisational knowledge and linguistic heritage.

The Chief Minister congratulated the Central University of Odisha and all those associated with the initiative.
