Lucknow, Oct 29 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath describes his administration's double-engine government
strategy, emphasizing the state's significant infrastructure turnaround since
2017. Prior to 2017, the state had only 1.5 functioning expressways and now has
ten, accounting for about 60% of India's entire expressway network. To
significantly minimize travel times, four new link expressways (including the
Farrukhabad, Jhansi, and Jewar link expressways) have been approved. Air
services have expanded from a few chosen places to a comprehensive network of
12 domestic and 5 international airports. Megaprojects like the Noida
International Airport in Jewar are being developed as global transit hubs.
In addition to having India's largest railway network and
two dedicated freight lanes, the state established the country's first rapid
rail service and developed metro train networks to seven cities. According to
the Chief Minister, the fast rise of multi-modal logistics immediately
increases market access for farmers, creates new opportunities for local
businesses, and draws enormous global investment, propelling Uttar Pradesh
toward a trillion-dollar economy. The administration commonly cites large-scale
infrastructure developments, including as expressways and increased air
networks, as major elements in reducing commute time for working professionals
and enhancing intrastate logistics.
In a post on X, he mentioned, “Roads, rail, and air
connectivity do not merely reduce distances; they bring new possibilities for
convenience, time savings, and prosperity. However, before 2017, the state of
these lifelines of development in Uttar Pradesh was extremely lamentable. Under
the illustrious guidance of the honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji,
the double-engine government has transformed this picture with the mantra of
speed, scale, and connectivity. Before the BJP's double-engine government came
to power, the state with the country's largest population had only one and a
half expressways. Today, 10 expressways are operational in the state.”
“Back then, air services were limited to select cities, but
today, with 12 domestic and 05 international airports, the state's flights have
reached new heights. Back then, not a single city in the state had a metro. On
the other hand, today, the metro is giving new momentum to public life in 07
cities. This transformation is providing farmers with bigger markets for their
produce and new opportunities for entrepreneurship. Access to education and
employment for the youth is becoming easier. Time is being saved for working
people. Tourism is also expanding, which is giving new strength to the
livelihoods of local families. This pace of development is today transforming
the lives of citizens from villages to towns and from towns to cities.
Opportunities for every sector, strength for every enterprise, and increasing
prosperity in the lives of every family is the new identity of the 'New Uttar
Pradesh' of the 'New India',” he added.
