New Delhi, 29 October (H.S.): Several parts of India are likely to experience rainfall, strong winds and hailstorms over the next few days under the combined influence of Cyclonic Storm Arnab, a fresh western disturbance and a low-pressure area near the South Andaman Sea, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD forecast light cloud cover on Friday, with light rain and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph likely in several areas from morning until noon. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may remain between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. Light cloud cover is also likely on Saturday, when the maximum temperature could reach 28–30 degrees Celsius and the minimum is expected to range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD, the depression over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining south Odisha is likely to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and north-western Odisha. Under its influence, heavy rainfall is possible at isolated places in north Bihar on October 30.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area near the South Andaman Sea is expected to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the south-eastern Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea by October 31. It may subsequently move towards the Andhra Pradesh coast.
In north-western India, rainfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on October 30 and November 1, while Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive rain between October 30 and November 2. Isolated hailstorms are also possible on October 30 in Uttarakhand, western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan and Haryana.
Several parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh may experience continued rainfall between October 30 and November 4.
Across the southern peninsula, rain is likely in parts of Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from October 30 to November 4.
In eastern and north-eastern India, isolated to light rainfall is possible in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
