Srinagar, Oct 29 (HS): Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday said the J&K Police’s future plan centres on engaging more young people and promoting more sporting activities to build a safe, drug-free and secure Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the “Pedal Through Paradise 2026” cycle race in Srinagar, he was asked what the police’s plans were for the future.
“Youth engagement, more and more youth engagement, more and more sporting activities, a safe J&K, a drug-free J&K, a secure J&K and, most importantly, a very happy, healthy and prosperous J&K,” he said.
The cycle race was organised by the J&K Police to encourage young people to take part in sports and to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
Additional Director General of Police (Armed) Nitish Kumar said earlier in the day that more than 3,000 people took part in the race, in categories that included children, women and people above the age of 45.
