Mumbai, 29 Oct (HS): Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged running alliance partner
Shiv Sena group of not cooperating with it, which affected the results of the
Legislative Council elections. BJP State President Ravindra Chavan said that a
meeting with his party office bearers will be convened and the report will be
submitted to the High Command in Delhi.
Spokesperson
Navnath Ban said that alliance (Mahayuti) suffered and had to remain satisfied
with only two out of five seats. Maha-Vikas Aghadi (MVA) bagged three. The Mahayuti
suffered because of the approach and attitude of Shiv Sena group. The votes
were divided as Shiv Sena supported Sachin Sanap in Pune. Sanap secured about
12,000 votes, which could have been secured by official BJP candidate and have
won the seat.
In
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Shiv Sena’s Abdul Sattar campaigned against the
Mahayuti candidate. In Pune Shiv Sena’s Mangesh Chivate was fielded as Mahayuti’s
official candidate. However, he withdrew his nomination.
Shiv Sena’s
Ravindra Ghangrekar replied to the allegations and said that Shiv Sena followed
the principles of the alliance. The results were opinion of the voters and Shiv
Sena followed the it followed the principles of the alliance honestly.
