Mumbai, 29 October (H.S.): Actor Akshay Kumar and actress Bhumi Pednekar are set to share screen space once again in an upcoming untitled film directed by Priyadarshan. Reports indicate that Pednekar has been cast as the female lead, with the filmmaker confirming her inclusion in the project.
The film will mark the third collaboration between Akshay and Bhumi, who previously starred together in ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ (2017) and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ (2022). Their reunion comes four years after their last on-screen appearance together.
The upcoming comedy will be Priyadarshan’s 99th directorial venture and is being produced by Ramesh Taurani. Set against the backdrop of the 1970s, the film is expected to present Akshay in an unconventional avatar, with the actor reportedly playing an eccentric and quirky tiger hunter.
Actors Annu Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav are also reportedly part of the cast, although details about their respective roles have not yet been disclosed.
Filming is expected to begin in the last week of November, with a shooting schedule spanning approximately three months. The production is planned across wildlife locations in Rajasthan and sets in Mumbai, while Bhopal is also being considered as a filming location.
Priyadarshan and Akshay share a long-standing professional association, having collaborated on several films over the years. The duo has also worked together on ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’ this year. Their forthcoming project has generated fresh interest among audiences eager to see the actor-director pair reunite on screen.
