Lucknow, Oct 28 (HS): Under the Yogi Adityanath government,
Uttar Pradesh electricity consumers are set to receive significant relief in
their November 2026 electricity bills. Consumers will receive 9.17 percent
relief under the Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge (FPAAS). This
will reduce applicable electricity charges in November's electricity bills and
directly benefit domestic, commercial, and other consumers. This is the fifth consecutive
month in which consumers are receiving relief through negative FPAAS.
Relief in electricity bill for the fifth consecutive month: According
to the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), consumers received
relief of 4.43 percent in July, 2.92 percent in August, 7.93 percent in
September, and 5.24 percent in October. This relief has now increased to 9.17
percent in November. This will provide consumers with five consecutive months
of electricity bill relief.
Under the FPAAS system, when the actual cost of power
purchase and fuel is lower than the tariff, the benefit is passed on to
consumers in the form of a reduction in their electricity bills. This reduction
is the result of better management of power purchase costs. UPPCL is passing this
benefit directly to consumers.
This relief comes at a time when UPPCL is continuously
striving to improve consumer services and ensure reliable and quality power
supply in the state. The FPAAS relief provided for five consecutive months
reflects UPPCL's commitment to consumer interests, transparent billing, and
efficient power procurement.
