Jaipur, 28 October (H.S.): Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani asked organisers of an event in Ajmer to replace a specially arranged ornate chair with an ordinary one after noticing the arrangement on the stage, according to details shared about the event.

Devnani, who attended the programme as the chief guest, immediately requested the organisers to remove the special chair and provide a standard chair instead.

The gesture highlighted simplicity and equality in public life, conveying the message that an elected representative's role is rooted in public service and closeness to the people rather than special privileges.

The incident also drew attention to the importance of humility and accessibility in the conduct of public representatives, while recognising the dignity and responsibilities associated with constitutional offices.
