Mumbai, 28 Oct (HS):

The Maharashtra Government has decided to give special Diwali gift to SC and

Neo-Bouddha women under the Ladki Bahin scheme. The instalment of Rs 1,500 for

September was cleared on Wednesday. A fund of Rs 344.62 crore was approved by

the State Government and the Department of Social Justice was directed to

disburse the amount to eligible candidates.. Earlier in the budget Rs 3,000

crore was earmarked for implementation of the scheme.

The provision has

been made only for the eligible SC and Neo-Bouddha category women and not

related to beneficiaries from other categories.
