Guwahati, 28 October (HS): The 1st Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, organised vigilance awareness programmes in various schools across its areas of responsibility on Wednesday to promote integrity, transparency and ethical values. Programmes on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and women’s recruitment in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) were also organised to encourage girls’ education, women’s empowerment and participation in the forces.

The initiatives were conducted under the directions of SSB Force Headquarters, New Delhi, and the guidance of Commandant Sunil Kaushik. The vigilance awareness programmes were organised in the areas of responsibility of ‘E’ Company, Lokhra, ‘F’ Company, Golaghat, ‘G’ Company, Hojai, and the Battalion Headquarters.

The vigilance programmes were held under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, with the slogan “Embrace Integrity, Eradicate Corruption.” The programmes aimed to sensitise students and the general public about the importance of honesty, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct in everyday life.

Participants were encouraged to remain vigilant against corruption, uphold integrity and contribute towards building a corruption-free society.

Meanwhile, awareness programmes on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and women’s recruitment in the CAPFs were conducted in the areas under ‘B’ Company, Rowta, and ‘G’ Company, Hojai. The programmes highlighted the importance of girls’ education, safety and empowerment while encouraging women to explore career opportunities in the CAPFs.

Special emphasis was laid on the role of women in the armed police forces and their contribution to national security and nation-building.

Through these initiatives, the 1st Battalion SSB Sonapur reaffirmed its commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, girls’ education and women’s empowerment, with the aim of fostering a prosperous, inclusive and corruption-free society.------------
