New Delhi, 27 October (H.S.):
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital at 5.30 pm on Tuesday. The three-day conclave will deliberate on emerging technologies and India’s innovation priorities across a range of sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy and climate.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the inaugural session is scheduled for 5.30 pm on October 27. The conclave, being held from October 27 to 29, will bring together leading scientists, researchers, academicians, policymakers, industry representatives, start-ups and international experts.
Deliberations will cover 12 major thematic areas, with a focus on research priorities, strengthening national capabilities and identifying ways to translate scientific achievements into practical applications.
A comprehensive exhibition showcasing indigenous scientific achievements and emerging technologies will also be organised during the event. It will feature stalls from around 150 deep-tech start-ups, highlighting technological developments across various sectors and their potential applications.
The event will also demonstrate scientific advances and their real-world applications through thematic videos, technology showcases, documentaries, information centres, and augmented and virtual reality experiences.
As a new initiative, the conclave will host the ‘Global Connect Networking Programme’, bringing together more than 300 invited participants from academic institutions, research organisations and industry in India and abroad.
The initiative aims to promote international research partnerships, strengthen collaboration between industry and academic and research institutions, and explore pathways for taking innovations developed in laboratories to the marketplace.
