Bengaluru, 27 October (H.S.): Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) on Tuesday referred a representation submitted by Renukamma, a single mother from Kalaburagi, to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), East Zone, for an enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of her 21-year-old son, Rishikesh, in Bengaluru on March 1, 2026.

Renukamma met the DGP at the Police Headquarters in Bengaluru and submitted a written representation seeking intervention in the case. She suspects that her son's death may not have been natural and has sought a proper enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In her representation, Renukamma also raised allegations of mental harassment, criminal intimidation and disputes involving family members at her ancestral residence in Kalaburagi. She stated that she had approached Chowk Police Station and other authorities with her complaints but continued to seek intervention from senior police officials.

The representation was referred to the DCP, East Zone, for an enquiry, according to information shared by the Nari Shakti Forum. The status and outcome of the proposed enquiry were not immediately available.

The Nari Shakti Forum extended support to Renukamma in her efforts to seek official intervention. The forum said it believed that every single mother deserved dignity, support and access to justice, irrespective of geographical boundaries or the challenges she faced.

The forum said extending assistance to a mother seeking justice was a responsibility it could not ignore. It reiterated its commitment to supporting single mothers facing legal and personal challenges.

The allegations raised by Renukamma are yet to be independently established, and the circumstances surrounding her son's death remain subject to enquiry.
