New Delhi, 27 October (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin will lead the ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ march in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk on Wednesday, October 28. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi BJP president, MPs, MLAs and several prominent party leaders are also expected to participate in the march.

The proposed march is being viewed as the BJP’s response to protests led by the Congress and other constituents of the INDIA bloc, which have been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and a halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

According to the BJP, the march aims to present the party’s position to the public on issues relating to democracy, the electoral process and political opposition. By organising the march under its national president’s leadership, the party also seeks to strengthen its campaign machinery in Delhi.

The initiative comes amid an ongoing political confrontation between the ruling party and the Opposition over the SIR exercise and the electoral process. Through the march in Chandni Chowk, the BJP is expected to put forward its position more prominently in the wider political debate.
