Guwahati, 26 October (HS): The First Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, on Monday launched Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 at its battalion headquarters and all subordinate units, with a focus on promoting integrity, honesty, transparency and accountability among personnel.

The week-long observance, being held from October 26 to November 1, is being organised under the guidance of Battalion Commandant Sunil Kaushik and in accordance with the directives of the Force Headquarters.

On the occasion, Deputy Commandant Vikas Kumar administered the prescribed vigilance pledge to the personnel present at the programme. Awareness was also created among SSB personnel about the importance of maintaining integrity, honesty and transparency in the discharge of their official duties.

Personnel were urged to remain vigilant against corruption and perform their responsibilities with utmost sincerity, honesty and accountability.

Various awareness activities will be organised throughout the week to strengthen ethical values among personnel, promote a corruption-free work culture and reinforce their commitment to integrity and good governance.

The theme of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 is “Probity for Prosperity.”-------------
