Kolkata, 26 October (H.S.) : The Alambazar branch (Akhandanand Nagar) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated 'Kaumudi Mahotsav' and Kojagari Purnima with immense enthusiasm at the local Ramlochan Ghat premises on Sunday night. Marking the auspicious occasion of Sharad Purnima, the event featured the worship of Goddess Mahalaxmi and the Moon God, alongside traditional Kabaddi competitions and vibrant cultural programs.
Around 500 local residents and devotees participated enthusiastically in the festivities. Bikash Singh, the 'Bhag Karyavah' of Kolkata North, attended the event as the chief speaker. In his address, he elaborated on the spiritual significance of Kojagari Purnima and the concept of 'Ashtalakshmi'. He also took a moment to recall the painful memories of the historic 1946 Noakhali massacre.
Addressing the gathering, Singh emphasized, We should not limit ourselves merely to external rituals and practices; instead, we must strengthen our spiritual and social consciousness. Society can only be kept united and secure by adopting the ideals of 'Dhairya' (patience) and 'Veeralakshmi' (courage).
The program concluded with the distribution of 'Paramanna' (kheer) and Mahaprasad among all the devotees and guests present.
Sharing detailed information about the successful execution of the event, Kundan Prasad Shaw, a representative of the RSS (Akhandanand Nagar), stated that the meticulously organized program delivered a strong message of social harmony and solidarity within the local community.
