Over 1.44 crore registrations in the Farmer Registry, UP
secured the first position in the country
Farmer accident assistance directly into the account,
emphasis on simplifying the process of caste certificate and public complaints
Lucknow, 25 October (HS.): The role of the Revenue
Department in Uttar Pradesh is no longer limited to maintaining land records.
The Yogi government has focused on providing residential property documents to
rural families, creating digital identities for farmers, and simplifying the
process for disbursing assistance. According to statistics, more than 10.5
million houses have been constructed and distributed in the state under the
Swamitva Yojana. More than 14.4 million registrations have also been completed
in the Farmer Registry.
Prior to 2017, progress in systems like the Gharonee
(household register) and the Farmer Registry was negligible. Previously,
revenue services relied primarily on traditional records and office-based
processes. The Yogi government expanded these services and worked to streamline
rural property records and farmer-related information.
Rural families received property documents: The creation of
Gharonee under the Swamitva Yojana has become a major initiative for revenue
reforms in rural areas. Gharonee identifies and records residential properties
in rural areas. According to the department, over 15 million Gharonee have been
created and distributed. This has helped rural families document their
residential property details.
UP ranks first in the country in terms of farmer
registration: The Farmer Registry was expanded to make farmer-related details
available on a single platform. More than 14.4 million farmer registrations have
been completed in the state, and Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in
this regard. Now, digital records can facilitate farmer identification and
verification of eligibility for various agricultural schemes. According to
data, the achievement of such a system was zero before 2017. The current
initiative is considered a significant step towards organizing farmer-related
details in one place.
Changes in the payment of accident assistance: A state
government spokesperson stated that changes have also been made to the
administration of the Chief Minister's Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme.
Previously, the scheme was administered through an insurance company. Now, the
assistance amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account
through the District Magistrate. This has made the administrative process of
aid distribution more direct.
Attention should also be paid to certificates and disposal
of complaints: To simplify the process of issuing caste certificates,
arrangements have been made to link them with Aadhaar and reduce the
documentation process for other eligible family members after one member's
certificate is issued. Meanwhile, public grievances are being monitored through
IGRs and cross-checked at various levels. The Chief Minister's Office is also
monitoring the resolution of complaints.
