New Delhi, 25 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh and Odisha today on Sunday, with a series of engagements spanning industrial development, military aviation and financial-sector infrastructure. During his visit to Varanasi, he will inaugurate a new garment manufacturing facility established by Arvind Limited and witness the Indian Air Force’s Air Force Day Aerial Display-2026 at Namo Ghat. He will subsequently travel to Bhubaneswar to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) newly established data centre and cybersecurity training institute.

According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Saturday, the Prime Minister’s programme will begin in Varanasi at around 11 a.m., followed by the aerial display at approximately 1 p.m. He is scheduled to reach Bhubaneswar later in the day, where he will inaugurate the RBI facilities at around 4.45 p.m. and address the gathering.

VARANASI: GARMENT MANUFACTURING FACILITY

At around 11 a.m., Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate Arvind Limited’s new garment manufacturing facility in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The facility is expected to strengthen India’s textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem while supporting industrial expansion and economic development in the region.

Designed around modern manufacturing practices, the facility is expected to generate employment opportunities, particularly for women, and contribute to the region’s economic growth. With products intended for international markets and a global customer base, the project will connect garment manufacturing in Varanasi with overseas buyers.

The initiative also reflects a focus on women-led development by creating employment opportunities and enabling greater participation by women in the manufacturing sector. Its inauguration is expected to underline Varanasi’s emerging role in manufacturing-led growth and Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to attract industrial investment.

1 P.M.: AIR FORCE DAY AERIAL DISPLAY AT NAMO GHAT

At approximately 1 p.m., the Prime Minister will attend the Air Force Day Aerial Display-2026 at Namo Ghat in Varanasi as the chief guest. Organised under the theme “Wings over Ganges”, the event will commemorate the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The aerial display will feature several frontline aircraft, including the Tejas light combat aircraft, the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, the Sukhoi-30MKI and the Rafale, alongside transport aircraft.

Aircraft from the Indian Navy and the Indian Army will also participate, highlighting coordination and joint operational capabilities among the three services.

The IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and Sarang Helicopter Display Team will demonstrate their aerial manoeuvres as part of the programme. The display will showcase precision flying, coordinated formations and the operational capabilities of the participating aircraft.

The event is expected to provide spectators with an opportunity to witness the capabilities of India’s military aviation assets against the backdrop of the Ganga.

BHUBANESWAR: RBI DATA CENTRE AND CYBERSECURITY TRAINING INSTITUTE

Following his engagements in Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Bhubaneswar, Odisha. At around 4.45 p.m., he will inaugurate the RBI’s newly established data centre and cybersecurity training institute and address the gathering.

The facilities have been designed to meet the central bank’s computing requirements while providing secure, resilient, scalable and future-ready digital infrastructure for the financial sector.

The data centre comprises four state-of-the-art facilities that will host mission-critical payment and settlement systems, along with other key initiatives. The infrastructure has received Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, a global benchmark for data-centre reliability and resilience. According to the PMO, the facility is among the largest Tier IV-certified facilities in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector worldwide.

The new infrastructure is expected to strengthen the reliability, efficiency and reach of digital financial services. It will also provide a secure technological foundation for India’s increasingly digital financial ecosystem and reinforce the RBI’s capabilities in managing critical financial infrastructure.

CYBERSECURITY TRAINING AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES

The cybersecurity training institute in Bhubaneswar is intended to strengthen technological capabilities and cybersecurity preparedness across the financial sector. It will provide an institutional platform for specialised training, research and capacity-building initiatives.

The institute will focus on emerging and advanced technologies relevant to the banking, financial services and insurance sector, including quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI). Its programmes are expected to help develop specialised expertise to address evolving cybersecurity threats, technological challenges and the growing need to safeguard critical financial systems.

The Prime Minister’s engagements in Varanasi and Bhubaneswar bring together three key areas of national development: employment-generating manufacturing, the operational capabilities of the armed forces, and secure digital infrastructure for the financial sector.
