Bhubaneswar, 25 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Rs 169-crore data centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute at Info Valley-II in Jatni, officials said.

PM Modi landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport at around 4.15 pm aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft. He is scheduled to travel by helicopter to Khurda before proceeding by road to the RBI facility for the inauguration.

The facility is aimed at strengthening the RBI’s digital infrastructure and enhancing the security and resilience of India’s financial ecosystem. The data centre will support critical banking, payment and settlement operations, while the Cybersecurity Training Institute will focus on specialised training, research and capacity-building to address emerging cyber threats.

The project is expected to bolster the technological foundations of the country’s financial system as digital transactions and technology-driven banking services continue to expand.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also arrived in Bhubaneswar separately to attend the inauguration.
