Guwahati, 25 October (HS): The 1st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, organised a ‘Sunday on Cycle’ rally at its headquarters and all company units on Sunday as part of the Fit India Movement.

The programme was conducted in accordance with the directions of Force Headquarters under the guidance of Battalion Commandant Sunil Kaushik. At the battalion headquarters in Sonapur, Kaushik flagged off the rally, which proceeded to New Market and returned to the starting point. Similar cycling rallies were organised simultaneously at all companies of the battalion, with officers and personnel participating enthusiastically.

The initiative aimed to promote physical fitness, regular exercise and cycling as part of a healthy lifestyle, while spreading awareness about the importance of fitness among the general public.

Alongside the cycling programme, cleanliness drives were conducted at the battalion headquarters and all company units under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. Personnel collected waste from the rally routes and surrounding areas and disposed of it at designated locations.

The participants also sensitised people about environmental protection and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.

Commandant Sunil Kaushik appreciated the personnel for their active participation and urged them to make regular exercise and cleanliness an integral part of their daily lives.

The programme concluded with a message highlighting the importance of fitness, discipline, cleanliness and environmental conservation among SSB personnel and the public.-------------
