New Delhi, 25 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, has completed 12 years, marking a milestone in his efforts to connect with citizens and highlight their contributions to society. Reflecting on the journey, PM Modi described the programme as a pilgrimage dedicated to discovering, understanding and acknowledging the initiatives and achievements of ordinary people.
Launched on the occasion of Vijayadashami 12 years ago, Mann Ki Baat has evolved into a platform through which the Prime Minister communicates with citizens across the country, bringing attention to inspiring initiatives, community-driven efforts and individuals making meaningful contributions to society.
Addressing listeners during the 139th episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, PM Modi said, “For me, Mann Ki Baat is no less than a pilgrimage — it is a journey to deeply understand the efforts of our people and salute their contributions.”
The programme is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month, providing the Prime Minister with an opportunity to share stories of individuals and organisations working towards positive social change. Its episodes regularly highlight public participation, grassroots innovation, community service and exemplary initiatives undertaken by citizens in different parts of the country.
Over the years, Mann Ki Baat has sought to bring lesser-known achievements and community-led initiatives into the national conversation, recognising the role of ordinary citizens in addressing social challenges and contributing to the country’s development.
The completion of 12 years marks a significant milestone for the programme, which continues to serve as a channel for highlighting people’s experiences, celebrating collective efforts and encouraging wider public participation in nation-building.
