Vaidekam resort general manager Thomas Joseph has rejected allegations that CPM leader E P Jayarajan’s wife, P K Indira, received money from CMRL owner Sasidharan Kartha, saying her investment in the establishment came from her provident fund savings.

Responding to a Facebook post attributed to Jayarajan’s nephew, E P Shyamjith, Joseph said there was no basis for suggesting that Kartha’s money had reached the resort. He maintained that the company’s financial transactions were transparent and conducted through bank transfers.

“All returns have been filed, and the company is audited in accordance with the law,” Joseph said. He added that central agencies had examined the financial records during inspections four or five years ago and scrutinised the transactions in detail.

Describing the latest allegations as speculation, Joseph alleged that the controversy could stem from resentment over action taken against Shyamjith’s wife, who had previously worked at Vaidekam.

According to Joseph, the management had complained to the district police chief and the deputy superintendent of police over alleged irregularities involving unauthorised access to the establishment’s systems and the use of a personal mobile number.

He said an FIR had been registered following the complaint and suggested that this, along with her dismissal, might have prompted the allegations. These claims remain allegations made by the resort management.

Joseph also questioned Shyamjith’s explanation that his Facebook account had been hacked, saying the police should investigate and establish whether that had happened.

Meanwhile, Shyamjith reiterated that he had not published the Facebook post and maintained that his account had been compromised.

He said he would lodge a complaint with the cyber cell after reaching Kannur. Shyamjith also stated that he did not know Sasidharan Kartha.

The dispute centres on the origin of the Facebook post, with Shyamjith denying authorship and the resort management contesting its allegations.
