Neq Delhi, 25 October (H.S.): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been conferred the prestigious ‘Award of Excellence’ in the category of ‘Excellence in Innovation and Smart Mobility Solutions’ at the 19th Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo held in Bhubaneswar.

DMRC Managing Director Dr Vikas Kumar received the award from Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal. Odisha Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra was also present on the occasion, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.

The two-day conference and expo, held on October 23 and 24, brought together urban mobility experts and professionals from across the world. The event provided a platform for deliberations on various aspects of sustainable development, innovation and progress in the urban mobility sector.

In recent years, DMRC has undertaken several initiatives to advance innovative smart mobility solutions. These include digital ticketing systems, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for predictive maintenance to identify potential equipment failures in advance, and initiatives to strengthen customer feedback and response management.

The recognition highlights DMRC’s initiatives to incorporate technological innovation into urban transportation and enhance the efficiency and quality of metro services.
