Lucknow, 24 October (HS.): On World Polio Day, UP CM Yogi
Adityanath sent a social media statement commemorating India's polio-free
status. He remarked that everyone is proud of India's polio-free status today
and encouraged everyone to commit not to allow the disease to resurface. He
underlined the need of administering two drops of polio vaccination to each kid
and boosting public awareness. In 2014, the World Health Organization (WHO)
officially proclaimed India as polio free. World Polio Day's theme is
Together, We End Polio, which emphasizes global eradication
efforts.
UP CM mentioned in a post on X, “We are all proud that India
is polio-free today. On this 'World Polio Day', let us come together and
resolve not to let diseases like polio resurface. Ensure every child receives
the two drops of polio vaccine and continue to raise constant awareness among
people about it. Heartfelt congratulations to all doctors and health workers
who made India victorious in the fight against polio.”
