New Delhi, 24 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh and Odisha on Sunday, where he will inaugurate a new textile manufacturing facility in Varanasi and witness an Indian Air Force aerial display before travelling to Bhubaneswar to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) newly constructed data centre and cybersecurity training institute.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday, Modi will inaugurate Arvind Limited’s new textile manufacturing facility in Varanasi at around 11 a.m. He will subsequently attend the Air Force Day Aerial Display 2026 as the chief guest at Namo Ghat at approximately 1 p.m.

The new manufacturing facility in Varanasi is expected to strengthen India’s textile and apparel industry while accelerating industrial development in the region. The centre will focus on modern manufacturing processes and is expected to generate employment opportunities, particularly for women. Products manufactured at the facility will be supplied to international markets, helping connect Varanasi with the global textile manufacturing industry.

The project is also expected to advance women-led development by expanding employment opportunities and improving access to international markets. With its global customer base, the facility is expected to contribute to the region’s growing industrial profile.

The aerial display in Varanasi will mark the completion of 94 years since the establishment of the Indian Air Force. Organised under the theme ‘Wings Over the Ganga’, the event will feature a range of aircraft, including the Tejas light combat aircraft, the Prachand light combat helicopter, the Sukhoi-30MKI and the Rafale.

Transport aircraft will also participate, alongside aircraft from the Indian Navy and the Indian Army, highlighting the joint operational capabilities of the three services.

The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and the Sarang Helicopter Display Team will also showcase their aerial manoeuvres. The programme will demonstrate precision flying, coordinated formations and the operational capabilities of the participating aircraft.

Following his engagements in Varanasi, the Prime Minister will travel to Odisha. At approximately 4.45 p.m., he will inaugurate the RBI’s new data centre and cybersecurity training institute in Bhubaneswar and address the gathering.

The RBI’s new data centre is designed to meet the central bank’s computing requirements while providing secure, reliable and future-ready digital infrastructure for the financial sector. The facility houses four state-of-the-art data centres that will support critical services, including payment and settlement systems.

The infrastructure has received certification under the Tier IV standards of the Uptime Institute, a benchmark associated with the highest levels of data-centre infrastructure reliability and operational resilience. The facility is expected to enhance the accessibility, efficiency and reliability of digital financial services.

The cybersecurity training institute in Bhubaneswar aims to strengthen cybersecurity preparedness and technological capabilities across the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector. Its activities will focus on training, research and skill development.

The institute will also provide training in emerging technologies, including quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI), helping build specialised expertise to address evolving technological and cybersecurity challenges in the financial sector.
