Bhubaneswar, 24 October (H.S.): Security arrangements have been intensified in Bhubaneswar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on Sunday, with 57 platoons of police personnel and more than 300 officers scheduled to be deployed to ensure comprehensive security.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s newly established Greenfield Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute at Info Valley-II in Jatani. The Commissionerate Police has stepped up security measures across the city and along the route to the venue in coordination with central security agencies.

223 Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors will be deployed for security duties. In addition, 71 Inspectors-in-Charge and 37 Additional Superintendents of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police will be engaged in the arrangements.

Ten senior officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police and Commandant will oversee the overall security arrangements.

The entire stretch between Bhubaneswar and Jatani will remain under heightened security during the Prime Minister’s visit. Police personnel will be deployed at strategic locations to manage security and ensure the smooth movement of the Prime Minister’s convoy.

As per the proposed movement plan, the Prime Minister will travel from the airport to Info Valley by helicopter. After attending the programme, he is scheduled to return to the airport by road via Khandagiri and Jaydev Vihar.

Senior officials of the Special Protection Group (SPG), which is responsible for the Prime Minister’s close protection, have already inspected the venue as part of the security preparations.

The police have also been directed to inspect high-rise buildings under construction along the route from Info Valley towards Khandagiri police station. The exercise is intended to strengthen surveillance and address potential security concerns along the designated stretch.
