Delhi, 24 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) new Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar on Sunday during his visit to Odisha. The inauguration is scheduled for around 4.45 pm on October 25, followed by an address by the Prime Minister.

The two facilities are aimed at strengthening the technological infrastructure of India's financial system, enhancing cybersecurity capabilities and supporting the expansion of digital banking and financial services.

The new data centre infrastructure has been designed to meet the RBI's computing requirements and provide a secure, resilient and scalable digital ecosystem for the central bank and the wider financial sector.

Four state-of-the-art data centres will host mission-critical payment and settlement systems, along with other key RBI initiatives. The facilities are expected to improve the reliability and resilience of the technological infrastructure supporting the country's financial operations.

The infrastructure has received Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, a globally recognised benchmark for data centre reliability and operational resilience. The facility is among the largest Tier IV-certified installations in the global Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
