Lucknow, 24 October (HS.): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath congratulated the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on its
Foundation Day / Raising Day (observed annually on October 24). He complimented
the Himveers (ITBP members) and their families for their bravery,
discipline, and devotion to protecting the nation's borders in tough Himalayan
climes and sub-zero temperatures. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police was founded on
October 24, 1962, in response to Chinese aggressiveness along the India-China frontier.
UP CM mentioned in a post on X, “Heartfelt congratulations
and best wishes to all the Himveers of @ITBP_official and their families on the Foundation Day of
the 'Indo-Tibetan Border Police'. Our brave soldiers steadfastly protect the
nation's borders even in the extremely harsh conditions of the Himalayas and
temperatures below zero. The valour, courage, and dedication with which you
safeguard our borders fills every Indian with pride. Jai Hind.”
