New Delhi, 23 October (H.S.): The Delhi administration has stepped up preparations to position the national capital as a major industrial hub and a leading centre for startups, with a renewed focus on industrial development, infrastructure modernisation and improving the ease of doing business.

A high-level meeting with senior officials of the Industries Department was held at the Delhi Secretariat on Friday to discuss the proposed new industrial policy and other key issues concerning the industrial sector. The meeting also reviewed the progress made so far in advancing industrial development across the capital.

Discussions focused on developing concrete action plans to ensure the early implementation of Delhi’s new industrial policies, including its export promotion policy. Officials deliberated on measures to translate the proposed policy initiatives into practical outcomes and accelerate industrial growth.

Particular emphasis was placed on modernising industrial areas across Delhi and strengthening their basic infrastructure. The proposed measures are intended to improve facilities for entrepreneurs, support existing businesses and create a more conducive environment for industrial activity.

The administration’s primary focus is on further improving the ease of doing business, with the objective of making it simpler for entrepreneurs to establish, operate and expand their businesses in the capital.

The initiatives form part of the broader effort to strengthen Delhi’s industrial ecosystem, encourage entrepreneurship and enhance the city’s competitiveness as a destination for investment and business development.
