Lucknow, 22 Oct (HS): Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav
has called the action taken against two employees in connection with the voter
list irregularities in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district inadequate. She has
demanded that the Chief Election Commissioner take responsibility and resign on
moral grounds. Dimple Yadav posted this information on her social media
account, X, on Thursday.
SP MP Dimple Yadav wrote in a post on social media on
Thursday that if employees can be prosecuted for negligence related to the
Special Intensive Review (SIR) at the assembly level in Pilibhit, why doesn't the
Chief Election Commissioner take moral responsibility for the serious
irregularities in SIRs across Uttar Pradesh? Morality demands that those
responsible resign, and if found guilty, they should be sent to jail.
It is noteworthy that irregularities in the voter list in
Pilibhit district have come to light following the SIR. Political parties
complained to the Uttar Pradesh Election Commission about this matter.
Following the Commission's preliminary investigation report, two individuals,
including the Electoral Registration Officer and an operator, have been removed
from their duties. Notices have been issued to both, seeking clarification. If
satisfactory answers are not received, the Election Commission will take
further action.
