New Delhi, October 22 (H.S.): India has reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia, strongly condemning attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure and calling for an immediate cessation of such hostilities. The Ministry of External Affairs said an Indian national was killed and two others were injured in an attack at Dammam airport.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry reiterated that attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure were wholly unacceptable and must stop immediately. It also expressed hope that peace and normalcy would be restored in the region as soon as possible.
The statement strongly condemned the continuing attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including the October 21 attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and the attack on Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah oil field in the Eastern Province.
The Ministry said an Indian national had unfortunately lost his life in the attack at Dammam airport, while two others sustained injuries. Another Indian national was injured in the attack on the Shaybah oil field.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wish those injured a speedy recovery,” the Ministry said.
It added that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh was in contact with Saudi authorities and was providing all possible assistance to the affected Indian nationals.
